A view from the top of the Georgia Mountains

Just bought my 4th Jeep and enjoying getting it ready for off-road adventures this fall.  If you own a Jeep, you know what I mean.  It's the perfect vehicle.  My daughter will most likely procure this one from me after it's all equipped and ready to go.

There are many places that you can off road safely and enjoy a cookout on a mountain top. I like to take a drive after dark with the top down and heat turned up.

The view from Coleman Mountain is 60 miles in any direction. On a clear night, there are spectacular shooting stars and an abundance of wildlife. Go prepared and enjoy the drive.

Looking for a way to cool off during the heat wave?  Cool River Tubing

Take a trip to Helen and enjoy a lazy afternoon tubing the Chattahoochee River or relax at the water park.  There are long trips and short trips available.  With a park pass you can ride the water slides and tube down the river as much as you like.  Open 7 days a week 9 am to 6 pm thru September 5th.  More information is available on their website coolrivertubing.com.

A great way to spend a summer afternoon is riding in an air conditioned car touring the Toccoa River on the Blue Ridge Scenic Railway.  Blue Ridge Scenic Railway

The vintage train runs a 26 mile track that allows passengers to visit downtown McCaysville, Georgia and Copperhill, Tennessee.  It's a 4 hour trip that only costs about 32 dollars per adult, discounts apply for veterans and seniors.  Check their website at brscenic.com for more details and scheduling.
