There are a lot of great benefits to living in Georgia, but the Georgia DMV isn't one of them.  I just went to put tags on my new Jeep and instead of the support wildlife tag I usually purchase, I wanted something to show pride in my Air Force service.  It's been a few years since I need tags for a vehicle and Georgia has lifted restrictions on what can be put on license plates.

Now, you can put just about anything on your tag, sports teams, NASCAR drivers, pets, colleges, but you can't put a branch of the military. Georgia only allows retired military, disabled veterans, medal recipients and POWS.  I qualify for the DV plate, but there a lot of other honorably discharged vets that would like to show some support for their branch of service.  What gives?  Support the troops.  I got into a discussion with the manager of Tax Commissioner's Office, and in complete agreement, she suggested following up with our regional congressional delegates.  You can bet I will and I advise you to do so also.
