Blue Ridge - Gateway to the Cohuttas and Blue Ridge Mountains

Located at the southern tip of the Appalachian Trail in the Blue Ridge Mountain Range,  Blue Ridge was founded in 1886 with the completion of the Marietta and North Georgia Railroad.  Blue Ridge became a center of business with the arrival of the railroad.  Blue Ridge is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Georgia attracting many tourists with its pure mineral waters and quaint shops.  The central focus of Blue Ridge is the railroad depot, where you can take a tour along the Toccoa River to McCaysville, Georgia.  There you can walk across the "Blue Line" on the street and be in Copperhill, Tennessee.

Blue Ridge City Park, a popular place for picnics, community gatherings and festivals.  Carriage rides are available at the park on weekends.

Historic Fannin County Courthouse, the home of the Blue Ridge Mountains Arts Association. The Baugh House, built in 1890 by a brick mason named James Baugh. The bricks were made out of clay from the back yard.  It is now owned by the Fannin County Heritage Foundation and open to the public on Friday and Saturday from 10:00 to 3:00.

Blue Ridge Inn, a beautifully restored Victorian home built in 1890. It has 14 rooms, 8 fireplaces, 12-foot ceilings, original carved woodwork, heartpine floors and clawfoot tubs.

Blue Ridge Mountain Adventure Race, April

80 co-ed teams of three hike, mountain bike, run and kayak in the Chattahoochee National Forest. The race begins at a secret location in the Chattahoochee National Forest, and follows a physically challenging course to the Downtown Blue Ridge City Park, with live music, food and the finish line. Arts In The Park, Blue Ridge City Park, Memorial Day Weekend

Features over 200 arts, crafts and food booths. The best in mountain crafts and fine arts, artist's demonstrations, music and dance. Arts in the Park has been recognized as one of the Top 20 Events by the Southeastern Tourism Society.  Sponsored by the Blue Ridge Mountains Arts Association.
